FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Wondering if Therapy is right for you?

A: Therapy is still stigmatized despite research supporting its effectiveness. It is a healthy investment in yourself just like eating healthy and/or physical activity. It can help you become the person you have always wanted to be.

Seeking help from a mental health expert is something many people consider, especially when:

  • facing a significant crisis

  • dealing with an extended period of anxiety or depression

  • coping with a major life transition

  • dealing with complicated family dynamics

  • grappling with problems in a relationship

  • trying to manage addiction or substance abuse

  • wanting to make changes for better mental and emotional health

Regardless of your reason, therapy offers a broad array of benefits for all of us. (https://www.healthline.com/health/benefits-of-therapy, 2022).

Q: What payments do you take?

A: Private Pay- Clients using this form of payment must pay in full at the time of service unless a payment plan has been previously arranged with our business office

Cash and Credit Cards

Insurance - We currently accept BCBS, CIGNA, AETNA, Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance through your Employment Assistance Program (EAP). We are also currently in the enrollment process of being able to accept more commercial insurance plans. If you have a copay, it is due at the time of service. If you choose to use your insurance, you are responsible for verifying your coverage. We can bill most insurance providers but that does not guarantee payment, so you are responsible for payment on your account. Insurance requires a medical diagnosis for coverage. After the initial session, if you do not meet the criteria for a medical diagnosis, you would have to pay out of pocket for any continued services. Also be aware, that your insurance plan may exclude payment for certain diagnoses and you would be responsible for costs.

Q: Is Teletherapy as effective as face-to-face therapy?

A: While face-to-face interactions are the most effective because it takes into account body language,        Teletherapy is a close second. I strongly believe it can be more effective in certain situations and meets the growing needs of busy professionals of today. Much of your progress will be outside of the hour we spend together and check-ins can help you remain accountable.

Q: What do I need to participate in Teletherapy?

A: You will need a laptop or mobile device with Zoom. Be aware that We Cannot

      Guarantee 100% Confidentiality with Zoom.

Q: What if I can’t make it to my appointment?

A: I understand things happen. If you do not cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time, you will be charged half the amount of your scheduled session. If you are late, you will still be charged for the full session even though the time is shortened.
